Blackboard Batch Downloader - Privacy Policy
Effective date: 10 August 2026
Blackboard Batch Downloader is an independent community tool. It is not affiliated with any university, Anthology, or Blackboard.
Summary
The extension does not collect, sell, or transmit personal information. It works locally in the browser on the current Blackboard page and sends download requests only to files selected by the user.
Information processed locally
While it is running, the extension may process course titles, section names, item names, download links, authenticated Blackboard responses, and a small response sample used to identify PDFs and web previews. Temporary scan results and selections are kept in browser storage for the current course session. Panel size and collapsed state are also kept locally.
The extension does not read, copy, or store passwords, cookies, authentication tokens, form values, browsing history, or downloaded file contents. It has no analytics, advertising, account system, remote database, telemetry endpoint, or third-party tracking code.
Downloads
When the user confirms a download, the extension passes the selected Blackboard file to the browser's built-in download function. Direct downloads are organized under Blackboard Batch Downloads. Optional ZIP files are assembled locally in the browser. File contents are not uploaded to a developer server.
Sharing and disclosure
The extension does not share information with the developer, universities, Blackboard, advertisers, analytics providers, or other third parties. Requests to Blackboard are limited to inspecting or downloading files the signed-in user selected.
Children's privacy
The extension is intended for university course materials and is not directed to children under 13.
